Default Iberian Peninsula PCA (low effort edition)

    Some observations:
    - Main cline West/South-Pyrenees due to North African admixture
    - Secondary cline Basques-rest due to post Bronze age West Asian-like admixture
    - The Canary Islands are far removed in the North African direction while the Balearic Islands cluster with the populations of the Peninsula

Very interesting graphic! I thought that the Portuguese were closer to the Galicians genetically, due to their shared language and culture, but it seems that they are closer to the people of Extremadura, I think this is the reason why Extremadura is one of my closest populations in Gedmatch

Well it is not meant to be 100% precise but I think it makes sense because Portugal spans north to south and Extremadura fits right in the middle so it is more similar to the whole Portuguese population while Galicia represents best the North. Extremadura's original language is very similar to Galaicoportuguese.

Spanish_Asturias is a single sample and produce bad fits overall. Asturias should cluster with the rest of West Iberia, much closer to Galicia than to Cantabria.

Spanish_Soria are two individual samples and also produce bad fits but in this case more or less worked fine.

Because the person who made this doesn't know what he's doing and hence he wrote 'low effort edition.' (I think he might of added it to the title later when it was just too obvious how poor it was).

Oh I understand, but the graph doesn't look bad for me, I just had this doubt, but in general we can see that people from the western and southern parts of the peninsula are very similar genetically, so I think that the Portuguese being closer to people of extremodura doesn't It seems to be a problem with the graphics itself. In my opinion the person who mades the graph did a good job

Low effort because of the graphics, retard. It's the calculator that puts Portugal closer to Extremadura. Portugal is a big country compared to the cornered Galicia.
What did you expect to happen exactly? Make a genetics related comment for once.

It's low effort all around. As soon as I saw Asturias wandering by itself it's obvious a noob is at work.

A comment on genetics for once? You must not know me very well. PCA graphs are for noobs like yourself.
