it all depends on the scale used, type IV isn't the same everywhere and you act weird for an italian. Never seen an italian being proud of being dark skinned or looking close to MENAs

They are percentages reported. It is only an above average phototype, the variation of the order of a single phototype occurs among the populations, both in terms of lightness and darkness. I have no other references though, I have read this and shared it. Genetic overlap has nothing to do with it, natural selection is a billion times faster than you think, if you took northern Italians and put them in Sicily in the Middle Ages isolated from the reproductive point of view, it is reasonable to believe that at least most of the 3 % clearer frequently encountered deaths or lesser reproductive success due to direct and indirect damage from sunburn, sun-induced folic acid deficiency and skin cancers, even assuming distribution changes 1.5% each generation and is a very low estimate means that in just a thousand years the distribution of skin color is only 45% equal to that of thirty generations ago, this means that in just a thousand years you would get people much darker and more distinct from the original Italians of the north, similar to today's Sicilians.
