    Potatos are too dry and starchy. I can only really tolerate them as chips.
    (and even then, celariac (another european-originated crop) chips are better!)

    Parsnips, on the other hand, taste great all by themselves. (with no need to cover them in fatty sauces/cheeses over them!)

    Plus, they're what our people ate before foreign potatos came in.
