The West has totally leftist media hegemony, in Hungary this hegemony doesn't exist, as i proved with tons of numbers and sources. Just ask western users about it, they was born and rised in West and they didn't meet any Orbán billboards. The leftist media hegemony is not a conspiracy theory but fact. You don't want free media, you want leftist media hegemony where almost every right winger opinion will be censored by your comrades.

I want to say something about West. First of all, West is not perfect, never been that, never will be that. Maybe visions of USA were close to that (noble), but those have died long long time ago. Nope, most of west media is controlled someway someones. Last decades it is also focused/consolidated to hands of only few/country. Even so much that this has been seen as a risk. Here is some idea about media (globally).


Now, you might not trust those (fully) but lets say they give at least some ideas? Myself coming from Finland & Sweden I should know what ''good'' can be?

But first I want to ask you ... should media follow local laws? Or should/could it break those (laws)?
If you answer that local laws should me followed, then that alone might bind what media can and can not write. No matter how free it would from influences of leaders or some other groups.
If you answer that media should not need to follow laws, then naturally the next question goes how far and what kind of ''crimes'' media is allowed to do? Believe me, now we could end even much more difficult jungle to try to determinate those.

Here in Scandinavia (where media is most free from any interest groups) ... media is actually fighting between those matters, or two laws. Rights for free talks and opposite No rights attacks against any ethnic groups as such.

Now how I see the things? Just like Dunai said the public media should be free of any interest groups. This is the best way. In Finland (YLE) is pretty close to that. They can not be easily influenced by president, PM, government as their economical position is guarantee by constitutional laws. Nobody can say/threat them that we will cut your money flow etc. So media should be economically as free as possible. Also media should be able to decide and nominate freely their own people, who is CE etc. Thirdly media should be challenged (if someones feels they have done/wrote mistakes). Those are first step to get reliable media.

Second step is that local laws should allow media work and write all the possible matters. This were we could prove in Scandinavia. Again we'll closer to topic were the limit of freedom of speech goes? Should hate speech be allowed? What is actually hate speech? Should racist speech be allowed etc. Can journalist be charged same ways as individual people? Or should they be even more critical what they write etc.

Nobody has said that western system is perfect. But it surely is (at least here) better than anywhere in Eastern European countries or in Russia (where journalist might even ''disappear'').

Fully another matter is that will/would good free media, freedom speech etc. lead a society and society models we would hope. Sometimes dictator system is very efficient.

So if we criticize west, lets criticize right matters.

I do know that Orban bought the media that reach older people - radio, tv and newspaper. But FIDESZ's hands only reach so far. The younger people, who are active on the Internet, cannot be reached this way. The news websites which are popular, are mainly leftist. I also wish there was real objective media, but I have not found that yet (though these days I am not so into the news.) Also TELEX.hu and INDEX.hu says they are "objective", but I don't see them that way at all.
