Default In Eurogenes K13 and K15 is Italian_Abruzzo proper "central italian" component?

In those calculators Italy is divided into:

    North_italian
    Tuscan
    Italy_Abruzzo
    South_italian
    West_sicilian
    East_sicilian

I have some ancestry from Abruzzo. On G25, Abruzzo clusters the closest to Apulia and Molise, but you have to consider that each province and even each city is going to have genetic variation. I’m guessing that those from L’Aquila will probably cluster closer to central Italians since it’s closer to Rome. Ortona and Lanciano in Chieti (where my ancestry is from) both have significant Sephardic admixture. You also have some Molise Croat settlements in Chieti as well.

Yes, but i was asking if it is considered proper central in those calculators, since south_italian is separated, unless it refers to far southern italy, but i doubt it, East_Sicily embodies it better afaik.

I’m not sure honestly…Abruzzo is kind of different from the rest of southern Italy. G25 is definitely more advanced and I would suggest relying on that data rather than the older GEDMatch calculators. You should ask the creator if you’re curious.
