Not necessarily; berets come into fashion with the kiddoes every few years, especially the artistic types. Also, the US Army often sports berets, although they found them impractical in the field as they become limp from perspiration.

They can also be pests. There was a green belt near my house, that had a stream running through it. Beavers moved in and made a dam, which everyone thought was cute. Then the floodwaters killed off all the trees! I preferred the trees over the beavers.
