Why are Afghans so dark for their location/latitude?

With all the news stories about Afghans in the past month, I was really surprised to see how dark they are compared to other people in their latitude (and I mean those to the west)!....Yes, yes, there are a number of Afghan ethnic groups (discounting the Mongoloid Hazara), but generally they look more akin to Pakis and have the skin tones of Saudi Arabians, despite their area being on the same latitude with the Levant, Med Islands and Turkey at the extreme. Don't bring up the weather, because Syria and Northern Iraq are hotter in the summer and their natives are generally lighter than the Afghans.

And I also know that there are Nordic types. But I see them as outliers. Afghans generally look like this to me:

Because location has jack shit about phenotype
These people are Pashtuns, the biggest ethnic group in Afghanistan at 42%. The Tajiks are lighter and they are the next biggest ethnic group at 27%.

A pathan family. I find it very interesting how pathan women look more mongoloid than pathan men. I have posted a pathan family except father everyone is women and daughters look mongoloid influenced while father
look Caucasoid. Also have posted a pathan couple. They are engaged look how women look Eurasian while men look fully Caucasian. This is very common for them. I wonder how can anyone explain this? Why women look more mongoloid than men? Obviously many pathan women look Caucasian but I also have seen many with clear mongoloid influence while all pathan men look Caucasian

I still see their faces more familiar to me as Balkanite than the faces in group photos of NW Euros (Brits, Dutch, Germans, Scandos, Balts).

phenotype-wise there is this belt of Mediterranean stretching from Portugal to northern India, including all subtypes, depending on various degrees of Dinarization and Alpinization, but it is still the Mediterranean belt, lookswise, and I see them normally passing into it, in a normal gradient West to East

and music-wise from Portugal to Tajikistan and India it goes into such a gradient as well, and especially the Balkans are totally Oriental in music:

you could easily mistake this Tajik for Romanian/Albanian/Yugo/Bulgarian, by face, music style and music video style

What kind of news cast have you been seeing ?

Keep in mind the clothing could be throwing you off . You also need to realise afghans in Afghanistan are living in one of the poorest countries in the world . Most males spend their whole lives outdoors . The recent events also took place in the middle of summer .


















Pay more attention to their facial features and skin texture rather than their skin tone and clothing / style .....
