Default Were people anthropologically more diverse in pre-historic times?

A theory: Humans were phenotypically and genetically really diverse at the beginning. As the time went by the ones whose “racial features” are not suitable for their region became extinct. In the end different regions had different “racial features”. This theory suggests the idea that all regions of the world were once melting pots. In other words, once there were blonde and blue-eyed people in Africa but they become extinct since their "racial features" were not suitable for intense sun. Once there were Black people in Europe and Asia but they could not survive their lineages since they could not resist the cold weather. However these are not valid for the modern world since modern medicine have solutions for such issues.

I would say the exact opposite tbh, people back then were less mixed nowadays were creating things never were seen before and new phenotypes/mixes
