Default Who looks more out of place for their location: Scots or Romanians?

Scots are a lot more brunette and long-faced than any other Europeans of a comparable northerly latitude.
Romanians are often quite dark and swarthy despite not being that far south in Europe. (And I mean ethnic Romanians, NOT Gypsies).

Yes, but they are more brunette than other Northern European groups.

Scotland comes under northwest europe not northern Europe / Scandinavia. If anything, icelandics are the ones who are truly out of place .

Scots, the brunette element in Scotland is greater than that of Scandinavia and the Baltics though similar i think to parts of central Russia, Romanians are on the same latitude as southern France and share quite an open border with darker countries.

To be honest, I don't find both of them out of place. But somehow Brits seem so longfaced/doliocephalic compared to most Europeans.

They do, it is what makes Brits different and indeed short faced people are more typical across Europe except perhaps Denmark and Norway.

Denmark and Norway have their fair share of short faces. On the contrary actually, they are one of the shortest faced Europeans imo. Hyperdoliocephalicy types seem to peak around the British Isles and Iberia. Cephalic Index has more of a regional variance within Europe. There are large contrasts within NW Europe. UK and Belgium for example, even though they should be genetically basically identical.

Romanians are darker and (often) more ambiguous-looking than the Southern French. Trust me on this.

They certainly are but then i did say in my comment that Romanias borders are relatively open with the darker countries to the south while France is separated by major mountain chains.
