Samuel L Jackson(because of Pulp fiction and Django, mainly) and Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks (many good movies, always good acting ) these are the ones that come to my mind . Selton Mello is a good brasilian actor . My least favorite is Tom Cruise ,he is so self centered in all his movies I have seen so far, its like he is always just being himself,Ben Affleck is also not a good actor(my opnion).

Great thread, I'm an incredible movie and tv-series enthusiasist.

I'm writing down just few names, that come to my mind if I had to make a list it would probably contain around 200 names.

Favorite - Which is for me in god-tier bracket also.

Underated

Kevin Spacey - Incredible, incredible actor



Christoph Waltz - Give him any movie and good plot and this guy will turn his character into the best version, deserves much more.





Overated

Dwayne Johnson - Most demanded actor in hollywood rn, Imo a bit overated.



George Clooney, besides his few incredible movies and charm he has too much of a big name even though he is no near to the top.





Unlikeable

Nicholas Cage, good in his tresure hunting movies, but many others are pure trash.



John Travolta - Don't know big name, but doesn't can't seen to watch him, alot of shit movies.

(...) A good actor/actress can play many different role in very high level, i think its true for Charlize Theron, Christian Bale, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Willem Dafoe, Brad Pitt, Helena Bonham Carter, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Fassbender, Morgan Freeman.

This is the core point imo. And in this sense good actors are Dustin Hoffmann, John Malkovich, Robert de Niro, Jack Nicholson and Gene Hackman (of course there are many more).
But a number of appreciated actors are no good actors in this sense and do basically just present themselves in the always same way.
