Default Albanian movies during communism in China

It's actually more than just movies but it's a really good read.

Why Albanian films are big in China: Cultural Revolution nostalgia

Films from Albania were a window on the world for millions of Chinese film-goers when the Balkan country was one of China’s few friends. Ironically, while Chinese today can watch them freely, Albania debates banning them.

Nostalgia for the Cultural Revolution is manifested in China in various ways, from hoarding Mao memorabilia, singing “red songs”, to queuing for revolutionary operas. And then there are those who watch Albanian films online.
During a period when China counted the Eastern European country’s Stalinist regime as a loyal ally against a backdrop of Western imperialists and Soviet revisionists, movies such as Victory Over Death, Clear Horizons and The Guerilla Unit were windows to the world.
Actress Joan Chen, for example, recalled a “sexual awakening” while watching 1967’s Victory Over Death as a teenager – partly through the admittedly chaste war-time romance between the protagonists, and also because of the clothes they wore. (Chen’s recollections echo the representations made about rural life in 1960s China in the 2005 film Electric Shadows, when peasants were shown attending an open-air projection of Victory Over Death.)

So you fell for these propaganda pics and movies? I doubt life was so great under communism or your family would've stayed there

They left after...Besides, US is a magnet for all the world, even northern and western euros come here given the chance. I like communist Albania because it was a well organized society, rich in culture and social life. Right now is boring...

I'm guessing it was a well organized society due to everyone being the same color and ethnicity but still dosn't mean that life was grand for the average citizen

Art and literature back then is superior to the one today for one.

    Still gangsta though

Then in 2006, the Albanian government agreed to provide refuge to five Uighur men who had been wrongfully detained by the US government and held in Guantanamo prison for five years. The men had been captured by bounty-hunters on the Afghani-Pakistan border in 2001 and accused of terrorist activities. The US government allowed PRC Ministry of State Security officials to interrogate the Uighurs in Guantanamo. But all five of these men were cleared by the US of involvement in any terrorist activities. They were sent to Albania, as no other state would take them and they feared returning to China. The CCP government pressured the Albanian government to return the five men to China for trial—even though they’d been cleared of involvement in terrorist activities. Albania held firm however, and the five Uighur men remain in Albania today, still without papers, in limbo.
