Lukashenko first pushed for the Union State treaty in 1999 as a means for Belarus to take control of Russia. At the time, there was no strong leadership in Russia, with Lukashenko being the undisputed leader of Belarus. In the event of Union, Lukashenko would therefore be one of the most powerful leaders in the new Union State, and well positioned to command the whole entity.
Lukashenko then stopped pushing for the treaty after Putin emerged as a strong leader of Russia. With Putin in charge, Lukashenko would stand no chance of getting control, and at best be relegated to some form of regional governor.

Even the “Stan” states, specially Kazakhstan (with a big Russian population), would get a bit nervous. They have good relations with Russia but we must remember that their respective dictators (“presidents” if you consider them democratic), like to hold the power they have. The “Stan” states are isolated from the rest of the world, and if they were “incorporated” into a new Russian state, nobody including China would do anything for them.
But since Belarus has failed to integrate into the West repeatedly, considering what happened around Crimea, it would be really interesting to see how NATO and EU would react to something like that.
Anyway, why are there so many catholic Poles associated with Belarusian nationalism?

A real tragedy, people as masses can not provide a meaningful decision on a currently urgent matter, what Gustave Le Bon says about the crowd and masses？ But I am not implying that totalitarian dictatorship wil decide better for people, this is a dilemma. People is always people, nobody should take them literally as a political rationale. It is a truly stupid move to voluntarily merge with any other countries, even genetically kindrel taiwanese would fight japanese to stay independent though both dislike commies; Dalai Lama calls chinese people as brothers yet strive to fight for true autonomy. Believing in powerful leaders is the last obstacle for russian states` ascension to true greatness. Nothing serves people better than souveraignty of the state, nothing else.

Poles and Catholics are not associated with Belarusian nationalism.
Like machines, Poles follow orders from the USA and Western Europe. If the owner orders the slave to support neo-banderism in Ukraine and the opposition in Belarus, and to hate Russia, the slave will do so. And it does not matter that it damages Poland. Poles cannot draw logical conclusions and interpret reality on their own. Both the authority/government (100%) and the nation (99%).

Nope. Belarus was the heartland of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and then a major part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Those catholic Poles were part of January Uprising widely considered by historians to be the stupidest uprising that ever happened in Polish history.
Personally, I think they should bring back Iron Curtain for your own good. Soviets set the planet back decades, of course people lived in fear and poverty but they will not ask for your help either because they don't trust you, they don't trust anyone, that is built into their psyche, you took what you could when you could because there was nothing under Communism.
Besides Slavs are just too retarded for democracy, and you don't want a giant US military base in Poland either, because a good slab of American soldiers will be spics and negroes, who will breed with Polish thots and then they'll leave these mixed-race bastards in Poland for the nation to take care of.
