It would have to be Greeks, Italians, and Balkanians in general.

I am always surprised at the frequency and facility by which a brawl can start in Athens, for example. One word or gesture can be enough to result into a beat down.

In Greece we have the infamous and disgusting expressions

"DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM"
or
"WHO ARE YOU TO TELL ME"

and these are the most common thing you hear in every situation. Even though a guy knows he is wrong (e.g. he violated a stop sign) it is the immense sense of egoism and thug mentality that prevails over common sense and courtesy.

Example:

an acquaintance of mine was at the gym a couple of days ago.
He went out of the shower in the male changing room and sat on the bench to put on his clothes.
Right next to him comes a muscular guy and puts his foot on the bench in order to tie his shoe laces.
My acquaintance tells him:
"hey, you know, you should not put your shoes on the bench, it is not hygienic. This is where we sit bare-butted to put our clothes on."

The other guy becomes instantly enraged and starts yelling
"WHO ARE YOU to tell me what to do and what not to do? What are you, GOD?
FUCK YOU!!! You got complaints about me? Tell it to *insert name here*, the owner of the gym. See what happens then!!"
(apparently he is friends with the owner of the gym and was implying "don't fuck with me, I got connections" )

Then, he proceeds on climbing on the bench with both shoes on it in order to show his "superiority" to the person that only politely suggested that he should not do something un-hygienic.

Now, as you are reading this, you would imagine that this is some spoiled and thuggish teenager we are talking about...
But alas, according to my acquaintance, the guy was 40-ish years old....

Blame it on the Greek mothers/families who always raise their sons as if they are little Gods, teach them that they are always right, that they can get away with anything and that they need not respect others.

One of problems in the Ex-Yugo (Croatia-Bosnia-Serbia) is that many guys carry a handgun on them illegally or legally obtained and their temper makes thinks further complicated, its generally advised to avoid conflicts in Balkans and not to interfere if you see some guys quarreling in public...

This is the most annoying trait in these peoples and I have witnessed this quite a number of times. It's this kind of behaviour which is for us Northeners as if from a completely different planet.
