I think that Sicily is the only place where you can see the ruins-buildings-monuments of: .. phoenicians.. greeks.. romans... arabs... normanns/vikings ... spanish... french.. any style from ancient period to arabic gothic baroque rococcò..ect ect...


All the cultures of Europe and middle east and north-africa concentrated in one place.. an island in the middle of mediterranean see...

From a cultural point of view, Sicily alone is worth more than all Scandinavia and the Baltic countries put together ..

I definitely agree with you. It’s the geography of Sicily that makes it basically an interesting locality where European, Arab, North African, and various European cultures intermingled with each other.

Yes, the Arabs ruled Spain longer, and Arabic culture and traditions influence can be seen there to an extent. It was only in 1492, when Arab rule completely ended. The Moriscos also were not fully expelled until 1609. The Arabs created a very tolerant society for its time, and it flourished in Science and Literature. However Crete and other med islands were also under Arab rule. The Arabs even managed to create an Emirate in southern Italian mainland but it was short lived, it was called the Emirate of Bari.

Most of the time they are played by Anglo-Actors and not non whites lol. For example Marlon Brando who is of Anglo abd Dutch ancestry.
