Richard David James, best known by the alias Aphex Twin and less prominently as AFX, is a British artist, DJ, producer, technician, and musician.

James was born on 18 August 1971 in Limerick, Ireland. Hailing from Cornwall, England, he is one of the most prolific and experimental producers of his generation, often cited as a founder of so-called IDM dance music, and a pioneer of electronic music production technique.

He is among my favorite musicians out of any genres, even had the great pleasure to see him live, needless to say the gig was absolutely bonkers good. He also made fantastic Ambient music, which people often overlook:
