That Selkup guy looks woggy and mixed with Russians. It's rare for Selkups to have such a downturned nose. I think Americans have developed a downturned nose and a high nasal bridge independently via post-agricultural degeneration, because it's not that common among Amazonians or among Eurasians with high ANE.

I think these Selkups share a common look with Americans, and they look like they have an element that is very distinct from both pure Caucasoids and pure Mongoloids:

In this photo of Selkups, the boy in the middle also looks very American. But the woman on the right has a similar combination of features as some of the old WSHG Tarim mummies, where she has high cheekbones, a low facial index, and low orbits, which would be another candidate for the typical ANE look:

I believe Selkups wouldn't make a great candidate for ANE's at all compared to the other example. Selkup's are approximately ~20% ANE, while ~70% Nganasan ancestry, they look American because they are mostly, well, asian/mongoloid. The other examples have acquired 55% ANE ancestry, these are the ones that mostly don't have 'asian' characteristics and other features most common among those populations.

Just look at this Udmurt individual(Udmurts have 70% WSH ancestry, so ~43% ANE calculated ancestry.)
