So today i went to work in my garden. There's been weeks and weeks of stormy weather. Today is finally calm and dry.
I walked to the middle of my lawn, which is in-between 2 large cedar trees, and a large fir tree. I saw something perfectly coiled right there in the center of the grass.
It took me a few minutes to really wrap my head around what i was looking at. Instinctually i knew what it was, but it was so perfectly coiled and no sign of anything else around it. No fur, feathers, no blood, no sign of a struggle. Sure enough it was about 2 feet of intestine perfecting coiled sitting on my lawn.
What could of happened? What kind of animal would make such a clean kill? And leave behind only the intestine? I am thinking it was probably a bird of prey. I have a lot of coyote, fox, and bobcats around here, but you'd think they'd take their kill home and not be able to leave such a perfect pile of guts, right?
