During the 150 years of Ottoman rule, 62% of the Hungarian population died.

The Mongol invasion reduced Hungary's population from 2 000 000 to only 1 200 000. However, the population were still overwhelmingly Hungarians.
There was some repopulation, mainly with immigrants from Germany, Poland and Czechia.
Slovaks are essentially descendants of immigrants to Hungary with mixed Czech-Polish heritage.
The Germans were mainly settled in Transylvania.

In 1222, Greater Hungary's total population was 2 000 000, and it was 70–80% Hungarian. About 1 400 000 - 1 600 000 Hungarians.
After the Mongol invasion in 1242, the total population was reduced to about 1 200 000, that's about 840 000 - 960 000 Hungarians.
In 1300, Hungary's population recovered to 2 000 000, partily because of the repopulation by Germans and proto-"Slovaks" (Czechs and Poles).
Before the Black Death in 1348, Greater Hungary's total population was between 3 000 000 and 5 000 000, we don't know exactly.
In 1370, Hungary's population was about 2 000 000 again, about 60-70% Hungarian. 1 200 000 - 1 400 000 Hungarians.
Then, in 1490, Greater Hungary's population was 4 000 000, and it was 90% Hungarian. That means about 3 600 000 Hungarians.

We don't know how did the percentage of Hungarians rise up in just 120 years, and how did the Hungarian population increase from about 1 200 000 - 1 400 000 to 3 600 000.
It could have been natural growth, favourable weather, anything.
We must remember that while the Black Death was extremely devastating to Germany and Italy, it wasn't that devastating on Hungary.
Hungarians had belong to a special blood group which probably provided them with some sort of resistance to the plague. I don't know.
Or it just could have been royal policies that encouraged Hungarians to breed more, and non-Hungarians to not.
Or maybe an early form of Magyarization?

Religious toleration is about the only positive aspect of the Ottomans rule, that I am aware of. The Nazis had but a few years, to the others centuries, so it would be difficult to make comparison. From the evidence; about the same.
