If you had the choice between Hinduism and Islam what would you choose?

Islam, since I'm more familiar with it and it's the direct result of christian heresies of the past, like nestorianism and arianism, meaning it's more connected to christianity than hinduism will ever be (they even believe Christ was a messiah, just not god himself, and they also pay respect to Mary)...

I have read some chapters of the quran, it's not bad really, could definitely see myself being islamic, but not really hindu.

Well, both are brown people religions. Hinduism doesn't actually exist as every village/family/sect in India has different gods/rituals/practices loosely tied together by a vague shared cultural memory of what Hinduism was.

It was useful to keep the your dalit ancestors in line so the ruling upper castes promoted its iterations over other beliefs like Buddhism (lefty liberal version of Hinduism). They even went on to fabricate a lie about Siddhartha Gautama being an incarnation of Hindu god Vishnu to make atheists pray to Lord Krishna (one of Vishnu's incarnations).

Islam on the other hand was made for brown Arab tribes in the 7th century, to weaponise the anarchic Arab entities into a fighting force to fight for their Prophet in his war against Christian nations. It barely has any use outside of its embryo scenario.

Islamic societies are an unbridled mess of superstitious third-worlders stuck in a medieval worldview who sometimes support and sometimes oppose whatever despotic government they might have at the time. There's no room for individualism, there's no room for development or innovation, there's only Islam and people should just be satisfied with the situation.

Anyway, I can understand how it appeals to people like you.

Islam as its closer to Christianity despite their still being significant differences. Any monotheistic faith is closer to me than Hinduism or other forms of polytheism.

I will never be muslim so rather hunduism, but to be honest i dont know what is it, maybe the original gypsie religion.
