Who is lighter: Damascenes or Moslawis?

Moslawis, inhabitants of Mosul, are northern Iraqi Arabs of mostly Assyrian stock but with some Arab, Turkmen, and Kurdish input as well. Yes, you are right.

What an unfortunate mix. Maybe if they had some Lebanese/Phoenician they'd look better. No wonder they look quite sallow and unattractive in all brutal honesty! Just the worst of Semitic and Iranic combined!

I think people just get darker as you go further east. Mosul is also hotter than Syria.

If you are comparing the Muslim populations then likely the Damascenes are lighter on average than the Maslawis. Both populations are quite mixed.
