They made schoolboy errors in those death camps, designed to wipe out a race: tiny rooms, wooden doors and windows in gas chambers, some weird technique of loading zyklon b crystals into a mesh tube from the roof, building a handful of ovens to dispose of hundreds of thousands of bodies, then giving that up later on and attempting to burn them all in large open air pits in all weather (kept burning by human fat), smashing up the remains with small hammers on metal sheets - and doing all this with only a handful of guards, heavily outnumbered by the Jews who luckily never caught wind or revolted. Not what you'd expect from the most advanced and efficient engineering nation in the world.

For killing them, they could just have stopped giving them water in the camps and they would have died quickly within abt. 3 days. Especially in the bad condition that they were in. So actually inactivity alone would have been enogh to quickly kill them. Instead they do long marches and leave a quarter of a million of witnesses.
