Either People's Republic of China and Republic of China (Taiwan) claim mainland China and the island of Taiwan as part of their respective territories. Their only difference is that since 1949 they have conducted two different paths regarding their own political status, economy, cultural and social development. North and South Korea is a similar case, as was once divided Germany. A peaceful reunification under well established terms and guarantees, as well a certain level of autonomy for Taiwan would be the best case scenario.
