Question Will non-white immigrants become lighter (in colder climates)?

I'm not sure if anyone around here has asked themselves the same question: Would non-European immigrants flocking north eventually become lighter/ adapt to colder temperature generically and physically ??

Also, are there any studies out there related to this?

Who cares? But anecodotally, in my experience 2nd/3rd generation Indians and Pakistanis here tend to be a bit less pigmented than more recent arrivals, although that may be more to do with their regions of origin than losing pigmentation due to being in Britain.

Who cares? dude, this is a serious question, and a good one as well.

If people adapted to climates, developed different pigmentation and physicals appearances over thousands of years, what makes it different now?

southern europe has overall the same climate as turkey, the levant and coastal north africa + receive the same amount of UV radiation. Moreover it's not that simple, dark-skinned populations lived for thousands of years in Europe when it was even more cold and less sunny than today.

Or... a genetic pattern, since Indian/ Pakis are a form of caucasoid, they may tend to develop lighter skin as the generations pass.. I predict that if that's true, in a few decades Indians / Pakis will have generations living in the higher latitudes whom will be much much lighter then now.

You have even worse threads that make even less sense.

Ask yourself the opposite: do Anglos in Southern Africa, Florida, California and Australia look much darker-skinned than the British due to their climate? Likewise do Spanish and Portuguese descendants in Brazil, Cuba, PR, Colombia, Venezuela etc. look much darker-skinned than actual Iberians? (Those without much if any SSA or Amerindian admixture, that is).

Well, what I meant was I get the impression more recent arrivals from the Subcontinent tend to be increasingly Southern Indians, whereas the postwar generation were overwhelmingly Punjabis, Gujaratis and Mirpuris. All the same, yeah, those born and bred here will often have a little less pigment than their FOTB counterparts.

Phenotype adaptations usually take thousands of years, especially without strong selection for skin tone as is the case today. So no, this is very unlikely to happen, however they may appear lighter simply because there isn't so much sun exposure in comparison to their countries of origin.
