Look, for a moment at least try to imagine how it would feel like if every time Germany was mentioned, there was a discussion and opining regarding where exactly it fits on the cline between the French and the Poles, or the cline between Swedes and Italians. A certain blending of those 4 directions might pretty much describe and encompass much of what Germany is, but just because Germany is not a small nation, it gets the priviledge of this fact being glossed over. Rather than endlessly analyze and disect Germany, most people blissful in their ignorance tend to use it as a proxy to compare and contrast other nations with, as if it's not some kind of blending itself just as well.
