Not sure why you brought HDI here, but we are closer to Northern Europe than to Loldova by HDI.

Coastal Croatia (especially Dalmatia) has better climate, it's more like south Italy and Spain than like rest of Balkans/CEE except for cold northern winds in winter.
I've commented with my friends few days ago when we were returning from skiing in Slovenia we enjoy that country, but wouldn't want to live there.

It's very cold, often rainy, foggy etc. Slovenia is Alpine country. People are closed and towns and cities are empty on the streets. To coastal Croat who loves more southern Euro lifestyle this is hard to adjust.
I feel same about northern Croatia btw.

If you mean their living standard, yes it almost double better. But for Croats other things like spending time with friends in coffees, socializing, etc matter as much as that. Slovenes are more introvert.
Ofc northern Croats are similar, but I mean how Slovenia feels compared to Adriatic coast. They have their tiny bit of Adriatic coast tho

This could also be due to smaller population and less diverse population or activities. This is actually one of the main difference between my city and Odessa in Ukraine, which are close and share the Soviet past. Here people prefer to chill in small circles in cafes, pubs or at home, while there nightclubs and strip parlors exist at every corner. They are very outgoing compared to us. If you were to walk by an average block of flats at about 8-9pm in Chisinau, then most of the floors will look lit from the outside, while in Odessa they are mostly dark, because people prefer hanging outside at that time.

Their riviera is nice actually, although entire North Adriatic isn't nowhere close to real Mediterranean like Dalmatia, Greece or southern Italy.

I don't. His personal dislike of Germans is irrelevant. Many Slovenes dislike Germans because Germans were their masters and treated them very badly during WW2.
But everyone else in ex-Yugoslavia sees them same as Alpine Germans, just they speak Slavic language.

It's interesting how he protests being included with Germans because he doesn't like them, but claims Croats are much more similar to Serbs despite it's well known these two were bitter enemies.
Cultural similarity of Slovenes and alpine Germans is much greater than that of Croats and Serbs, btw, it's incomparable even.

Well, the towns of Izola and Piran are. Still better than nothing as we have no sea-shore at all.

Life in southern Croatia during summer. Same as in the rest of southern Europe. From 0:29 to 0:51. Siesta and fiesta.
