those people just dont think outside of the box, the same guys who advocate electric cars without knowing about the consequences of it (environment harming and dangerous mining of Lithium especially for the third world countries), what to do with wasted batteries and where the electricity comes and you already see how the EU wants to make atomic energy count as "green energy". A form of energy where its waste stays highly radioactive for millenia. That is green energy to them.

About veganism, it would NOT harm if everyone ate less meat, tbh. Dont eat meat everyday. In an Utopia, if it was up to me i would abolish all kinds of mass producing with animals, not only is it unethical it is also a breeding ground for all kinds of diseases, the animals get pumped with meds and antibiotics, their lives are just miserable, in all honesty slaughtering them is doing them a favour, and that is messed up. I would like to see lab grown meat replacing all kinds of processed, cheap meats you find in the supermarkets, no animals has to suffer, and if the technology is becoming better, the Labmeat tastes good and more readily aviable, cost should not be a factor. Maybe in the next decade we see an rise in lab grown meat, but who knows if the general population appeals in it. Some issues people seem to have with lab meat, say its chemical blabla, you first have to realize how many chemical hormones, medicines and anibiotics are found in meat from a ordinary supermarket, not really better, if anything worse. Ordinary meat or meat from venison can still be eaten, and be bought from farmers or butchers etc but will be probably more expensive, but then you know atleast the animal had a good life. The world has bigger problems than veganism though and mass producing animals is only a part of it.

So no, veganism alone wont save the world nor would it solve problems regarding world hunger tbh. Africas climate always sucked and were extreme, its just hard there to implement reliable agricultural structures, why do people think there are those huge savannas in the first place? a lot of parts in africa are deserts, shrubland or savannas. With millions of animals migrating because droughts are so severe these animals have to migrate en masses to reach better feeding areas or reach water. The tropical regions while having plenty of water also have a disadvantage, like in many tropical areas often has really really bad soils, inproper management makes it only worse, exhauts these soil while combined with the heavy rain causes further erosion and virtually renders the soils to biological deserts, nothing beyond some pioneer plants grows on them anymore. Also tackling capitalism, abuse of third world countries and the super rich might also be something worth noting. The massive amount of data and energy the internet consumes, but you never hear those Greta followers say something about that, because then they would themselves have to change something in their behavior. Its just comfortable for those people to point finger at others and say they are to blame and ignoring their own contributions.

You translated wrongly. It must be: "...then up to 4 billion more could get fed". So it's not about anyone suffering hunger today.

Now, this is true, at least in tendency. And easy to understand. You just eat, what you otherwise (today) give animals to eat. Because if you eat them, you get less calories than what they have eaten and consumed (of course).
