As a kid I would listen to what my parents had available in their audio cassettes at home, Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Dire Straits, Barclay James Harvest, Scorpions, Queen, Neil Young, Santana, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker...these are some of the groups and musicians I remember listening to.

When I was like 9 and 10 I really liked Ace of Base
This is actually my first time seeing the music video for this song. lol

I also liked Jewel at that age.

Pieces of You was my first CD i had ever gotten. I used some Christmas money to buy it.

Edit: I made the mistake of listening to the Jewel song. Now it is stuck in my head and i hate it.
I am going to go listen to some Korpiklaani now. XD

Nigga, bullshit. We're the same age. You'd have to be really young to have liked Chill Peppers before they blew up. Maybe you had an older sibling but you'd have to be in 2nd or 3rd grade to have known them when they were 'underground.'

Anyway, at my job when I was 16 I was introduced to SKA by co-workers.

Was "really young" a typo? I'm testing my grip on reality here.

I listened to a lot of Led Zeppelin and The Doors but especially The Doors. When I finally had money to throw around I bought anything I could of The Doors. I had some obscure stuff from them. I might have lost much of it. I'd need to look. An ex-gf's mother threw out a couple of boxes of my books and CDs that I had stored in her basement.

Unfortunately, it appears Led Zepplin was, um, 'borrowing' a lot from other musicians.

What I mean is he'd be too young to be aware of the band when they were obscure unless he had an older sibling who knew about them.

Oh, okay. I was just surprised to learn that they started in the '80s, way before you and I were born (cough).
