Another relative, - one who was decorated by the Tsarist army.
There was a website research about him, but now I cannot find that page anymore.
Do you have any info about this Romanov soldier?
I’d like to save the data

He looks a bit like Tatar or smthng southeast, not fully Finnish. Maybe I am wrong, but basically Finnish phenotypes can be divided into three groups; those who are hated by some Finns here and called WOG's, those who look like Kekkonen and finally the smallest group I have mentioned as square heads and members look criminals. I can't put him into those groups.

Edit He looks like an eastern version of Tauno Palo.

From Yandex's reverse image search (http://medalirus.ru/georgievskie-kav...rasimovich.php):

    > Romanov Ivan Gerasimovich (09/14/1891-?). Lieutenant L.-Guards. Moscow regiment. From the peasants of the Olonets province, the Povenets district, the Rebolsk volost, the village of Kolvas-Ozero. Graduated from rural school. Before being called up, he was a hunter. Called for service in 1911 in the Leningrad Guards. Moscow regiment, in the 8th company. From January to May he served in the ranks. On June 4, he was sent to work on updating the Russian-Norwegian border, where he stayed until August 18, after which he returned to duty. In September 1912 he was appointed to the intelligence team. He was promoted to corporal on February 8, 1914, to junior non-commissioned officer on March 24, 1914, to senior non-commissioned officer in April 1914. Promoted to sergeant major on July 5, 1915, and ensign on July 23, 1915, upon receipt of the St. George Cross 1st st. awarded with St. George's medals of the 4th class. No. 56552, 3rd st. No. 77350, St. George's crosses of the 4th class. No. 5494, 3rd st. No. 46848, 2nd st. No. 19632, 1st st. No. 9437 (according to other sources - St. George's Cross 1st Art. No. 5536), medals "In memory of the 100th anniversary of the Patriotic War of 1812" (?) and "In memory of the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty." On the left pocket is the badge of the L.-Guards. Moscow regiment.

He looks more Türkö-Ürälik in his right eye than his left eye:

Oh, I also found him, though not the website about his life.

But I knew you Komitasavalta would be able to track him down – you’re amazing!!! Thanks!

He was from Repola i.e. Viena Karelia, where ½ of my Karelian ancestors/relatives seem to have come from.
They escaped the Russian revolution in 1917 and moved to Finland and Sweden in 1918.

But there is some “Türkö-Ürälik”, Tatar-like something among that side of family and also Saami.

Quite common in Ostrobotnia, especially at Mustasaari, final resting grounds of Edward Teach.
