To the people against the Freedom Convoys in Canada and elsewhwere: why the opposition?

Over the last two years, it's an established fact that many governments around the globe have probed into unprecedented violations of basic freedoms of the citizenry. Their movement was restricted during lockdowns. People were arrested even in some countries over the arbirtary cause for "the protection of human health". The national healthcare system has been crippled all around the globe, as all other types of examinations and operations have been cancelled, and to add insult to injury, thousands of healthcare workers in each healthcare system have been laid off, because... they were not vaccinated. And ever since vaccines were introduced, there has been an unprecedented restriction of freedoms to vast portions of the population, on the basis that they haven't been jabbed. And the handout of privileges to people that are vaccinated that they're also taken away if they don't fulfill a certain amount of doses. Which all in turn violate the principle of equality before the law on behalf of anyone. And peaceful demonstrations that simply oppose this mess suppressed with crude violence.

All of that for a virus with a mortality rate of 0.15% and less.

That is what the Freedom Convoys in Canada and elsewhere oppose. The inexplicable and unacceptable crack down on freedom that our own leaders, at the same time, parrot like broken telephones.

If you support a peaceful demonstration for the restoration of our liberties being cracked down, then you're nothing but a spineless slug, in order to make anyone else subdued to the authoritarian dystopia with establishments that impose paranoid measures, a la chinois, in the protext of "health".

As long as you obey them, they will never stop.

The "flattening of the curve in two weeks" has become two bloody years.

It's high time everyone realised that this isn't about health, and it certainly isn't about getting our freedoms back. Because they only remove more rights and liberties from us.

I do agree that the doctrine of Zero Covid, embraced most notably by China, Australia and New Zealand, is (1) deeply utopian and (2) based on grief trumping reason. (When pointing out that shutting down an entire economy is not worth it just to save a few extra lives, someone will say "tell that to Joe Bloggs who last week lost his Granny to covid", as if people weren't and still aren't dying of all sorts of other things).
