In my eyes Finns did Finns again ... they could easily win medal but they played too safe. Niskanen should have been 2.

Born about there but I'm pretty sure Marjo Matikainen's ancestry is Karelian.

Yeah tbh I was pretty surprised they managed not be in top 3. Both Niskanen and Pärmä were real softies today even taking account they had to ski with their not-favorite style. Pärmä should not have let Sundlie catch her so easy but rather try keep up better pace herself.

Niskanen at second was clearly option. Too bad Roponen was not picked to team, pretty much only freestyle specialist, has so much experience some would say suffers from too much experience, but I say would have been good enuff still.

I would have put sprinter specialist Jasmi Joensuu to 3.

I do not know what is wrong with Frida Karlsson. She has been like shadow vs best of her. Maybe skiing that high (air) is just too much.

Frida seem the nervous type which prolly doesn't help. What I understand she has consistency issues as it is, and pacing issues, that is to start too fast contra her fittness level which can lead to total collapse especially in high altitude. Obviously, as her normal level is near top, her form is not best right now, but could perhaps had a more so-so performances with less forcing it. But prolly in individual races it the same to her, win or nothing. But in relay it different story, and in her case, a little more conservative approach, could have given more acceptable performance. Basically I recommend her total opposite to Pärmä, and it makes sense, it really does.

+ SHE FROZE HERSELF 1st RACE

Yeah, I know it does, but we better not get into it, otherwise we might get banned.

Lemmi would have known this for sure, but I am learning geography here, like where the heck is Västerbotten and Umeå/Uumaja.
I had never checked that side of things.

    .
I don't understand now. The idea of genealogical sites is usually to find relatives. Maybe I need to create an account.
