I wouldn't move to Moscow for "quality of life" and my city is surely far from perfect.

I would like to visit Leningrad before Moscow, sorry... Saint Petersburg.

I would more mentioned the garbage and waste handling systems.

Those will simply be transported/carried outside of city (= out of see) but other way it is wild wild west. Fully corrupted business (both companies and officers) and handled very badly (polluting environment).

As a touristic destination, Piter might indeed be number one in Russia. I'd probably hate its climate in cold seasons though.

I consider myself a patriot of Moscow (and Sevastopol), and I am bitter that non-local hucksters, and not authoritative people responsible to the residents, are in charge here.

As for the first and other places in competitions, we know how it is done. A questionnaire is issued in which the questions are of a general and abstract nature, which is natural, otherwise how can we compare, say, Rome, Moscow and Mexico City. Creative managers hired by the mayor's office are preparing colorful material, a mega-presentation. The main thing in it is to list the adopted programs, projects, preferably with bright, memorable names. Whose presentation is prettier, and answers the most questions, wins. This is the same as cabinet research in marketing. Without familiarity with reality.

I am not going to look for what the OP and other members of the forum said when someone thought at that time that the Russian troops that were beginning to gather on the border with Ukraine could mean an invasion.
