Default A Few Questions for Central and Eastern Europeans

How do Central and Eastern Europeans feel about Russia and Russians, given that Russians speak a Slavic language and share similar cultural values which seeks to uphold Christianity and conservativism?

Do you feel that you have more in common with Russians linguistically and culturally than with Western European nations?

When you see a lot of cultural destruction happening across Western Europe and the U.S. such as statues being torn down, free speech being erased, books and films being cancelled, Islamisation, radical woke indoctrination happening in western schools and in the western media, rising crimes, terror attacks, etc, do you not seek to culturally and politically distance yourselves from Joe Biden, Justin Trudeau, the U.S., and western European nations?

Should you look to Russia as a better influence and role model which protects and upholds similar values to your own cultural values?

Surely it would make more sense for all conservatives to be more friendly with Russia, like the Hungarian leader Viktor Orbán has a good friendship with President Putin, given that Russia shares similar values and culturally has more in common with Central and Eastern European nations than the US does.

Given all the bullying, threats, and fines imposed by the EU towards Poland and Hungary, do you not seek to distance yourselves from the EU?

You have no idea of how do ordinary Eastern Europeans think. You keep making false parallels between Eastern European governments and Eastern Europeans, which are two very different things. From a day to day basis there is hardly much difference between the values and what people care about between Eastern and Western Europeans. You need to travel more across Europe and talk to regular people and you will see the negligible differences.

I am mostly indifferent about Russia. Some hungarians like Russia and Putin, other Hungarians think Russia and Putin are bad.
Central/Eastern European countries such as Hungary have plenty of western influence. Western woke-ism and "SJW" ideologies have a foothold here.
Do you feel that you have more in common with Russians linguistically and culturally than with Western European nations?
I don't feel very close to either, but if I had to pick one side, I'd say rural Hungarians are more like Russian people, the ones who live in Budapest (capital of Hungary) are equally similar to both or maybe resemble Westerners more.
Given all the bullying, threats, and fines imposed by the EU towards Poland and Hungary, do you not seek to distance yourselves from the EU?
For good or ill, most Hungarian people are pro-EU (because they think EU membership is beneficial for them).
