For those who don't know:

It has been conjectured that Haydn took the first four measures of the melody from a Croatian folk song.

The tune of what is now the German national anthem was written by Haydn—paradoxically, to serve as a patriotic song for Austria. The tune is held to have its roots in an old folk song known in Medjimurje and northern regions of Croatia under the name "Stal se jesem". For details, see "Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser".

One claimed folk source of "Gott erhalte" is a Croatian song, known in Međimurje and northern regions of Croatia under the name "Stal se jesem". The version below was collected by a field worker in the Croatian-speaking village of Schandorf in Western Hungary (after WWI: Eastern Austria).

German is much more harsh language, you have to pronounce alot of letters. From your singing it sounds like English with alien words. But nice singing and effort.

This is much better and sophisticated than the German one. This sounds Baroque and churchy, the German one sounds like a partisan song.
