Let's precise: colonizing in modern times. Most of Russia consists of lands colonized not in ancient times, but quite recently, and there are many non-Russians still living there. It can't compared to let's say Slovaks who lived for thousands years on their own land forming an absolute majority of population. All other Slavic countries except Russia are nation states, while Russia is a federation.

You're making up arbitrary arguments. Poland had colonised Prussian lands just after the WWII and was polonising Lithuanian, Belarussian and Ukrainian lands in interbellum, southern Ukraine and Crimea was colonised XIX and even early XX century, Czechs colonised Sudeten after the war, there were still Romance minorities in Yugoslavia in early XX etc. only real difference between Russia and all other Slavic states is that Russia became a great power during XVIII and XIX centuries.

Ethnic identities appeared in 19 century all across Europe. There are no objections that Hungarians are a separate nation. I say that historically Hungarians are Slavic people who have adopted the language of Hun invaders.

You are very out of your league when it come to the history of Hungary. Modern Hungarians are the descendants of all the people of the Carpathian Basin who lived here since the Paleolithic times, of whom the Slavs were only another slice of the bigger whole. The same with Slovaks, Croats, Romanians, Serbs, Ukrainians, etc. There is no such thing as pure Slav, German, Latin, Greek population.

East Slavs are often mixed with finnougric people or caucasian tribes, South Slavs are mixed with Ilyrians and Vlahs while West Slavs are mixed with Germans and Celts I guess, so every group is different. Polesian people might be the purest Slavs as many claimed on this board.

I have not wrote that. But Russians from Smolensk, Kaluga and southwest Russia are basically indistinguishable from Belarusiand and NE Ukranians except of some rather small Finno-Ugrian admix. Russians more in the north show already way more Finno-Ugrian admix.

For example this is a medieval Slav from East Germany. Closest to Lithuanians actually but also quite close to Russians from Smolensk for example and closer to them than to Ukrainians or Poles for example.

That should be early medieval Pohansko sample from southern Moravia actually. Pohansko samples have heavy Baltic shift. But Slavs of central Germany (Krakauer Berg) have similar heavy Baltic shift as well.
on K13 these samples won't be that close to Lithuanians tho, G25 modern Oracle is poor.

Western Poles and South-Western Poles are closer to Slovaks, Moravians, Sorbs & Czechs than to Ukrainians and Belarusians.

Even western and southern Poles are rather far from Czechs and Slovaks.
