Where does this misconception of the US being so Leftist come from?

Judging by what I see on the internet and the news, the US became a leftist dystopia. All the anti-white, pro-degeneracy propaganda comes from US media and academia. Also I see lots of communists/antifa crazies on twitter, american youth is radicalized towards the far left.
Americans have individualistic and hedonistic attitudes compared to Europe. Even if Europe has more state spending on welfare, its culture is more conservative, families are more united, less divorces, less obsession with equality, etc.
