Is wearing flip flops in public wrong?

I wear them sometimes in summer when I do the groceries and similar stuff, but I heard some people say it's ugly and that it's a low class thing to do.

Perfectly fine. I am so low class, I go barefooted. Even to the supermarket. Fortunately here in NZ, wild men can still keep certain feral traits and are not looked down upon

No, wear what makes you comfortable, who cares what random people think. Tommy Hilfinger have great ones, cost pretty expensive but it actually looks good.
