Technically he is mostly white, as in a Parsi Iranian instead of proper Indian who are Eurasians with some Oceanian ancestral admix. I agree if had been a brown Indian he might have had a different career, but he was not that ethnically to begin with. Rather the chance of his family was to end up in an area that had been colonized so he could have this entry point into the Brit/white culture, as well as being white passing and getting a white scene name.
