I'm talking almost everyday with one person I know irl for years, from Odessa via Telegram calls, I hear air alert sounds almost everyday via phone when she stands on balcony in the evening, when there's no alert she says "this evening is boring". She is pro-Russian for sure just like tens of thousands of Odessa citizens. They're waiting to Putin's message to Federal Assembly tomorrow, if something gonna happen in Transnistria, it's extremely close to Odessa, lots of Ukrops are already worrisome.

South is full of Russian collaborators and civilians who are sick of being in Ukraine, what is interesting, lots of local people now stopped obeying various bullshit, like "state linguistic policy" in public sphere just saying to f off to those who demand using Ukrainian language from them. Everyone understands everything and those turbopatriots have no power for a witch hunt to everyone suspicious at the 3rd year of war which makes whole villages empty from men.

Well, it's between Moldavia and Ukraine, No access to this piece of land which goes by the Dnestr river. If Odessa is Russian someday, Transnistria just should become part of Odessa region as it was before Communists who seceded it to Moldavia. I don't believe Odessa and Nikolaev regions and generally space between Dnestr and Dnepr to become Russian via active war, but through negotiations and diplomacy.

Many non-pro-Russian Ukrainians in the art scene are not in favour of abolishing/containing the Russian language though.

Means they're not stupid, as lots of them earn on Russian culture. Top Ukrainian vloggers use Russian language, because this way they own whole ex-USSR, while Ukrainian language vloggers have a small niche even after the years of artifical Ukrainiization of culture and education.

The reality is that Russian movies and Russian music is still most viewed/listened in Ukraine becoming even more popular as something "tabooed".

Most of people don't die in war, lots of people die. Not everyone even on the frontline. I have an ex colleague who spent 6 months as cook in LNR some 50 km from frontline.

Thousands of Russian and Ukrainian soldiers in this war would never see a frontline until the end of war.

A significant number end up damaged forever, passing on that damage to their future generations thanks to PTSD and returning home limbless. It is a shameful situation for all.
