Regimen change because the current anti-Russian Ukrainian regime is a thread to Russian security. They wanted to join NATO (something that Russia, as the military power that it is, is in its right to don't allow it) and even wanted to have nuclear weapons.

This is not about religiously respecting international laws. Great powers will logically do their best to protect their security and geopolitical interests, no matter if they have to break those international rules, because they can. That's how the world works.

US do it all the time, but the western media doesn't condemn it, like they do it with hysteria and ripping their garments, when Russians do it.

Why do US and NATO (and Israel when acting against Palestinians) can break the rules, and do all the time what they fucking want, and Russians can't?

To add to Russia's motivation there are also the recently discovered huge reserves of oil and natural gaz in Ukraine wich could in the future ruin Russian gov main sources of income.

So you are putting on a pedestal Putin and blaming the Ukrainians for their country being invaded. Putin has obviously been planning this a long time. I'm not surprised that Ukraine wanted to join NATO. It is their right as a sovereign nation to do what they want not what Putin says they can and cannot do. You can't justify this invasion and condone all the bloodshed that will happen. If Russia can invade Ukraine why can Turkey not invade Greece for example? As civilised nations we have to not condone this aggression otherwise where will it stop? China will be very interested in the outcome of this.

Surely, his job is protecting his people. I have always respected Russian defence against Jewish-NATO expansion. But this war looks crossing the red line. I cant find any logic in this war. Its seems very unnecessary and idiotic. Now Ukrainian people are shocked and suffering. Soon Russian people will suffer as well because of very heavy western sanctions. Lose-Lose for both sides, real bad situation.

It might be, but it would be a secondary reason, being the first reason the provocations of Ukraine and Jewish-NATO. If it wasn't for that primary reason, Russia wouldn't have had any interest to invade.

What I respect about Putin - whether he's right or wrong - is he draws a line and makes it clear if you cross this line there will be consequences. That way you always know what the situation is and act accordingly (whether you decide to cross that line or not). This is in stark contrast with Biden who says one thing one moment and then another in a different moment. This wishy-washy behavior creates a lot of problems whether you're a president or a regular guy going about your life: people feel they can test you.

There certainly is and will be a lot of suffering but the blame can't be blamed on Putin. He made it very clear - and is making it clear now - do not put him in a position where Russian interests are threatened. NATO is a threat to nations that don't bend the knee. Anyone who thinks otherwise has a short memory. It would be negligence to allow yourself to be bordered by an antagonistic organization on multiple fronts.

Unpleasant news from Mariupol early on Saturday afternoon, as confirmed information speaks of three dead Greeks of the Hellenic minority of Ukraine and six other injured from an air bombardment in the village of Sartana at the outskirts of Mariupol.

The news about the bombing of Mariupol was also mentioned by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
