I think Latin American would be ahead of us. East Germany is still struggling to catch up with its Western counterpart nearly after three decades and we are talking about Germany, the largest economy in Europe and the fourth-largest by nominal GDP in the world, so one can only imagine the consequences it would leave in other economies.

I have personally nothing against Russian people just the way they conduct their domestic and foreign policy. I look at Russia and I see a colossus that should be focusing in modernizing the country and transforming it into one of the most developed and economically strong countries in the world yet it can not surpass a small peripheral nation that has been stagnant in the last 20 years like Portugal...instead it continues to invest in its military expansion, potentially risking the same fate as the Soviet Union (to disintegrate).
