Putin is not someone you can play with or fight by the normal rules of war. He threatened to use nuclear weapons "if necessary". He said the West would suffer like it never suffered before. Maybe if there wasn't a risk of nuclear war, the US and NATO would have kicked Putin's ass. Even Ukrainians are putting up quite a fight.
