Is being pale unattractive

Not at all. It's only unattractive if you look sickly and have an underlying condition like anemia. If it's your natural tone and you look radiant, it can look great. A light tan and a bit of colour can make you look more healthy though.

On the parts of the body that are usually covered? No. But most light phenotypes still get a light brownish tan if exposed to the sun on a daily basis.
In order to look sickly you have to be anemic.
There are also those who get red skin, but usually they stay pale until they get sun burn.
This is a picture of my lower leg. The left is where my socks have covered my skin, so it has remained pale. The right is the skin that has been exposed to the sun on an almost daily basis (walking).

Certainly not. Moreover, the irony is that in many if not most parts of the world, lighter skin is seen as more attractive, and this in many cases is a belief that even pre-dates European colonialism.

Being pale is only unattractive when the person looks sick. Pale skin with rosy cheeks and a healthy look is great, but pale skin with a darkish uneven undertone (ie under the eyes) makes the person look sick, and that is not attractive at all.

It's always good to get some D vitamin, it makes all skins to glow and look better, regardless of the tone.

It depends, I only find not attractive people with pale skin which cannot be tanned, but gets burned. This piggy pink whiteness with weirdly pigmented knee caps, ankles. At the same time there are nordic Scandinavians who can get tanned heavily, this combo looks great both for men and women.

Pale skin is the peak of attractiveness. But it depends on how the person looks. It goes two ways makes you look like a Greek statue (in the case of pure whites) or like a fucked up ugly zombie (in the case of mongrels).

I prefer the blonde mongrel over the pale brunette.

Rather yes than not... Usually with average it worsens the whole picture, but if you are attractive its whatever, you will be still good looking. Skin tone is less important than healthy skin, like if you have acnes and you are a hairy bastard with a beer belly
