That isn't naive at all. In fact, it sounds rather pragmatic.
For me, a few more grey hairs fall with each haircut. We can't fool mother nature or fight father time. I have earned every grey hair I have. Being Okay with where we are in life is a necessity for living a happy fulfilling one.

A middle aged man greatly improves his looks by removing grey with his natural hair color when he was younger. It doesn't look odd because the face still has a young color. When you are in your 80s and doing it, then yes, it looks bad. Do you think Ron Desantis looks bad by having non grey hair in his 40s?

As a public figure, Ron Desantos is a good example of "when the illusion is broken, it's broken." When you are dealing with someone you see regularly such as a coworker, friend, or family member. A sudden change in hair color is noticed. It makes one wonder about how honest they are in other areas.
