Default How to pronounce the name "Ragnar" in old Norse?

Well,I mean how to pronounce "Ragnar" in Old Norse, not the English pronunciation,in English the name's pronunciation is "Rag-nar",but in Danish,Norwegian and Swedish, the name pronounced "Rang-na-hr",and In Icelandic language, this name still pronounced "Rag-nar",but the Icelandic language is one of the languagese closest to the Old Norse,so I'm really curious about what's the pronunciation of the name "Ragnar" in Viking ages?Is the Norse pronunciation "Rag-nar" or "Rang-na-hr",or anything else?

Pronounce, following the English phonetic rules (as far as there are any...), "Rye-Nahr", and you come pretty close.
Remember that in most Scandinavian languages and dialects the 'G'-sound is always somewhat contaminated by a "Y"-like semi-consonant.

BTW the German cognate 'Rainer' still sounds almost exactly like Norse 'Ragnar'.

Well, that's quite "contrary" to my expectation,I though the Norse pronunciation of "Ragnar" is either "Rag-nar" or "Rang-na-hr",because in Chinese language, this name has 2 different translantions which the one is translated from "Rag-nar",the English and Icelandic pronunciation, and the other is translated from "Rang-nahr",the Swedish,Norwegian and Danish pronunciation,so that curious me for a period。
