As part of the American Academy of Sciences experiment, 873 job applications were sent. Half by male applicants, half by female. Gender was the only distinctive difference between the two groups of applications. There were no substantive (scored) differences. The chart shows what % of applications have been accepted by the faculty of the university (biology, engineering, psychology and economics, respectively). The bars for men are marked in blue, and the bars for women in pink:
