    Default Some questions

Are there high chances for Serbia to join the European Union in the near future (say in the next 5 years)? Do you see it happening in the distant future, or not at all?
What was the situation with the green pass during the last year, in your country? For example, did employers pressured their employees to get the jabs and the pass?

Very little chance, since EU blackmail Serbia with recognition of illegal and forcibly seceded province of Kosovo.

Thank you Romania, Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia and Spain, that you didnt recognized Kosovo and violation of international law against Serbia.

And thank you for your answer! I was interested about this, because I know that Serbia is one of the last countries in the area, that is not part of the E.U. And the fact that it has a very little chance to join it, is good, in my opinion. Personally, I was more neutral about the Union. But recently I kinda began to question myself more and more, if living in a E.U. country (for eg. Romania) is the best thing to do, as a simple person.
What about the overall attitude towards vaccination? Was it mandated or imposed in any way?

    Bună ziua

In general, people are tired of all the conditioning by the European Union.

As time passes, fewer and fewer citizens are in favor of joining the EU, according to the latest research, barely 50%. And what is especially interesting, the younger population is against in a higher percentage than the older ones.

We simply see that the economic situation in neighboring Bulgaria is no better than in our country, even though Bulgaria has been in the European Union for years. And as an EU member, Bulgaria only got depopulation and mass emigration to the west. Sо sad.

So, nothing concrete would change with our entry in EU, and we are conditioned by that EU to give up part of the territory of our country, which will never be accepted.

It seems to me that the standard of living in Romania is higher. Have you noticed any benefits from joining the European Union?

As for vaccination, it was not mandatory. Whoever wanted to could do it, who didnt want - no problem. Some citizens from neighboring countries, Bosnia, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, came to be vaccinated.

All the benefits from EU for us, are clearly only economic, and money and investitions from EU funds.

We do not share EU values (pro-immigration, pro-lgbt), neither want cutting ties with Russia, China.

So, most likely no entry into EU.

I was expecting the opposite. Interesting indeed.

There were some advantages. For example the freedom of movement in Europe. Millions of Romanians left in search for working opportunities. And many brought the money they made, back in Romania and invested them here, rising the local economy. Also many students had the opportunity to enroll in European educational institutions. This led to a secondary effect: "brain drain". Still, there are some educated young people, who chose to return in the country. We gained access to European funds. We could have used this opportunity much better, but the local corruption messed it up a lot.
Overall the living conditions at the moment, are not the best. The healthcare system in pretty much in shambles. Prices are rising by the day, but the salaries remain the same. For example the price of gas increased six-seven times ( this was before the military conflict that started in February).
But now, one of the concerns of the Commission is to implement a new European digital ID, which might lead to a better control of its citizens. Ideally we should all live in "smart cities" and "smart villages" and snack on crickets and mealworms (great novel food according to them). Even the way that the pandemic was handled in some countries that were considered "old Western democracies", had nothing to do with democracy. The European Commission for example, refused to provide public access to the text messages between Ursula Von Der Leyen and Albert Bourla, in which they discussed the prices for Pfizer jabs. Personally, I don't like where this is heading.

Freedom of working abroad is advantage and disadvantage at the same time.

I don't want to see mass emigration to West and depopulation of Serbia, by joining EU.
We need economic development and new jobs for our people here.

As a "candidate for joining", we already can get some financials from EU funds, and we can maintain good relations with Russia.
