Freedom of working abroad is advantage and disadvantage at the same time.

I don't want to see mass emigration to West and depopulation of Serbia, by joining EU.
We need economic development and new jobs for our people here.

As a "candidate for joining", we already can get some financials from EU funds, and we can maintain good relations with Russia.

Play with the EU and Russia at the same time, but never bet clearly on either side.

You could be an excellent bridge between Russia and the EU, something that, knowing how to do it properly, could be very beneficial for you.

After the change of position on the status of Western Sahara by the current Spanish government, after 44 years of being consistent with the initial idea, I would not be surprised if there is pressure from the EU and the USA to change their position also on the recognition of Kosovo as an independent country.

No way. Spain knows it would just be shooting itself in the foot.
It's about the Basque Country and Catalonia.
Spain will keep quiet, as it should.

As far as I know, there are some internal issues with Catalonia and Basque.

It is not wise for Spain to accept pressures from US and EU about violation of teritorial integrity of Serbia in Kosovo case.

Basque and Catalonian independentist are just now supporting the current Spanish governement.

And if Serbia shows too much "sympathy" with Russia, the EU or/and USA could put pressure on Spain to stop being against the recognition of Kosovo.

It is a changing and interconnected world. In questions of global geostrategy, there are no fixed rules or immovable positions. Few countries really have the luxury of being able to decide for themselves their international policy.

And Spain, of course, is not among the countries that can make decisions more freely, due to its relative low weight as a nation compared to others, and due to its membership of supranational organizations and alliances.

You are a half-breed, likely with a bit of a wet dream of a kumbaya Spain, just because that's what you happen to embody.

How about a referendum? Basques and Catalans have every right to democratically declare how they feel.
Why is that too much to ask, if they're indeed against independence, as you say?

As I said, as candidate for joining, we can get some investitions and money from EU funds.
That is what we want from EU, not membership, that bring obligations that we do not want.
There is no sense of belonging.

It is different with Russia.
Average Serb citizen really love Russia, unlike EU. The only country in EU that could compare with that relation to some degree is Greece.

No, I don´t want it, I just say what could happen.

I have commented on it many times here, without having any particular animosity towards Kosovar-Albanians, what was done there was unfair for Serbs.
