Cmon Blondie, rothaer didnt want to insult you, me or Hungarians in general.

Also, Blondie is right. Before the Ottomans came the majority of people living in Hungary were Hungarian. Were those people Volga-Ural by DNA? Definitely not. Bela III. of Hungary had less Volga-Ural admix than I do according to his K36. Guy lived in the 12. century... His simulated G25 coords put on Europe 1 PCA on Vahaduo end up right next to todays Hungarian avg. A bit more western shifted. Does it mean that Bela III. of Hungary was not Hungarian? That he was Magyarized? Certainly not. Being Hungarian has little to do with DNA. Hungarians did achive a lot and it should not be taken away from them, especially not on some internet forum.

Never said that people are nasty, only one of the grumpiest outhere, but I didn't know that's something new. It's the opinion of the majority living around them since ever, and even various travel/leisure kind of magazines and portals are mentioning the same thing based on some people's experiences and impressions.
And so far I see, Magyars are totally aware of that, and joke about it in the first part of this video

Czechs aren't warmer but definitely much cooler as folks , and if I have to choose, I pick CZ for all the reasons I've mentioned. There are also some others which I haven't, such as nicer landscapes and charming old towns; so to sum it up, it wins all the medals except for food which I love

I like HU, it's not that I don't, but CZ as a country is simply more to my taste and it's slavophonic which only adds additional points

Here is cool video about Hungarian history. It's a millenial state that exists for so long in a prominent role, it deserves to be respected.

My experience was nothing like that, but my experience with Czechs was close, also with Austrians and Slovenes (my last two visits to Slovenia made much better impression about them tho)
    Guess it depend on individual.

Hungarians are nicest people I ever met, and my experience was so good I had a culture shock when I came back to Croatia considering how terrible people are towards each here (on coast at least, Slavonia in comparison is always stereotypes as very friendly and nice). I have fantastic experience with everyone, from Police officers to random people in shops or in Public institutions.

But maybe it helped I was with a Hungarian man and I can speak the language (past tense, as I already forgot a lot)

While in Czechia we were drunken teens on maturalac. So maybe we should have expected shit treatment hmm . Hope to have much nicer time there soon

Yeah, I see what you mean. Can't argue about landscapes/old towns for sure. Czechia beats Germany there overall IMO, let alone Hungary.
They just seem odd in some ways, like being rather unemotional, militant atheist....idk. But their sporty and communitarian culture is pretty cool.

I like HU, it's not that I don't, but CZ as a country is simply more to my taste and it's slavophonic which only adds additional points
    Cheers!

    My take

0:31 no idea, but it's by a river so maybe Buda?

1:15 must be Dobó István and the Battle of Eger. Look at his helmet.

1:33 seems to be a preparing for christening, there's a brick pool in the background. Considering the man is already old, maybe it's Grand Prince Géza? Also it looks like he's wearing a kaftan, like the magyar nomad in the next frame

Croats are hot-blooded and can be nasty towards eachother but rarely towards the guests These are only exceptional cases. People are smiling here.

But maybe it helped I was with a Hungarian man and I can speak the language (past tense, as I already forgot a lot)
Probably, and language is very important too. What I mentioned is only one trait of how people in surroundings perceive them, it's not like they are bad people. Rarely smiling, reserved, sometimes a bit arrogant, etc. It's like saying that Germans are workaholics, Italians love pasta, Croats noisy (I often here that), etc.

It's a different experience when you actually live somewhere. I can put a paralel with France. You'll often hear that French are rude, complaining all the time, don't want to speak English -it's not entirely false. You'll probably meet some French who behave like that as a tourist. But I speak French, I lived in France, and my overall experience is entirely different. I've met one of nicest and extremely interesting people ever, and I'm always coming back.
So I totally understand what you mean

While in Czechia we were drunken teens on maturalac. So maybe we should have expected shit treatment hmm . Hope to have much nicer time there soon
okaaay. You definitely need to come back for a sober opinion
