I don't think the team is necessarily representative of the national population. Most of these people probably come from the cities, and cities are mixes of people from around the country.

A source? I would recommend a trip to England. English people are in general more Celtic in appearance. It is widely known that Keltic nordic is the most common phenotype in that old Celtic and Frankish area from Switzerland, through Belgium, Netherlands and to the British Isles. Hallstatt is around 8% in England, Trønder 5% (Way more common in Scotland - Scottish norse clans etc.) and 20% Anglo-Saxon (But it’s mostly medium-brown haired).

That is not proper research. Those photos are taken with old film cameras, which darken the image. Hair colors tend to look darker in photos taken with film cameras. Modern cameras are more accurate.

    Okay, thanks for the information.

I have an issue with what you said here:
English people are in general more Celtic in appearance.
There is no Celtic phenotype. The Irish, for example, are predominantly Celtic, but most of their population is Mediterranean or North Atlantid.

There is Coon’s research for example. And Czekanowski’s. And also mine, because I was in England many times.
Celtic is my umbrella term for modern Celtic countries. Celtic means Keltic nordic, North Atlantid and Brunn for me.

Mediterranean and NA pred. in Ireland? It’s also quite new for me. I thought that Irish are mostly Brunn and Keltic nordic. Because they are. You can have a very difficult task to find a mediterranid in Ireland. And North Atlantid is more Welsh. The last big Brunn area in Europe lies in Ireland.

As I said in another thread a few days ago, the majority of people in England have roughly this pigmentation:
