    Default Tolerance in the Rzeczpospolita

I think the Rzeczpospolita, when it existed, was "ahead of its time". It would fit more in today's world (this is why we should resurrect it, as Zelensky wants):

It was more tolerant toward Jewish immigrants, than toward native Orthodox Christians Slavs who were treated as second class citizens.

The problem with the Rzeczpospolita was that it was in the stranglehold of Polish nobility, who as an estate had an absurd amount of power, more so than the royalty in fact.

In fact a lot of the Szlachta would rent their property to a certain ethnoreligious group that I'm not allowed to talk about, and said ethnoreligious group would manage the noble estates in such a way that all the grain and wheat produced would be exported to Western Europe while Polish, Belarusian and Ukrainian peasants would starve to death. Meanwhile the Szlachta would live in decadent luxury.

This was the achille's heel of the Commonwealth. Royalty may or may not care about the peasant and the state, but the nobility will always view them just as tools to sustain their existence.

In essence, the Noble was first and foremost a traitor. Almost always.

Maybe, but not as much as simply using peasants as second class citizens(no matter the religion, so tolerant), as already Perfafrost said in short based post
